Penelope is a Semi-traditional liveaboard narrowboat with a spacious reverse layout and well-designed interior. The onboard electrical system was meticulously planned out and designed by an electrical engineer who intended the boat to be self-sufficient in any part of the British waterways.
No expense spared, she boasts a hurricane diesel boiler, a diesel generator and an onboard Victron travel power system. Powered by an immaculate Beta Marine engine which starts at the first turn of the key. At the heart of the boat, is an AGM Victron leisure bank which can power the onboard amenities solely, or split between the 240v shore power.
Built by the well-renowned boat builder Graham Reeves in 2005 it is safe to say that she has an impressively robust hull. In April 2022, She was craned onto hard standing shot blasted and professionally blacked with multiple coats of ballistic epoxy as well as being top coated with Bitumen for extra protection. 3 Large anodes, have been added to each side as well as the existing ones on the bow and stern readying her for a long stint on the water between maintenance. A detailed hull survey was conducted by PJS at the time and is available at request. She also comes with a new Boat Safety Certificate examined by Mark Loveday which expires in 17/05/2026.
There is a large amount of well-crafted storage on board, throughout the living quarter's galley and main-berthing located adjacent to the bow. As expected she comes fitted with top-of-the-range AEG appliances, fan oven, combination microwave, dishwasher, induction hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. Double, stainless steel sinks can be found in the galley along with water filters.
The breakfast bar located opposite the galley works beautifully within the layout.
The main berth located by the bow has a dropdown bed which can easily be folded in and out of the space to create and alter the function for each social occasion.
The bathroom features a stunning open-plan bath and shower combi, coupled with marble-like countertops. Making the space seem open and luxurious.
Cruising Penelope is a delight as the entire companionway hatch can be slid back to reveal the cockpit with plenty of storage available for windlasses, clothes and all the expected journey needs. The cockpit is made up of marine quality hardwood-faced veneers and a faux teak floor, giving you the best of both worlds low maintenance with style.,
Penelope is a stunning cruiser with the potential to be a homely, self-sufficient cruiser or a leisurely weekend retreat.
Current Berthing
She is currently located in a beautiful marina, with friendly staff and neighbouring boaters. Clean, secure and well-maintained onsite facilities are present. This mooring can be made residential or leisure at the Marinas discrepancy. Please do not attempt to view the boat without a pre-booked appointment.
