****Boring theory post alert!!**** Here’s the calculations for the EDrive system based on Mergansers hull… all the numbers! obviously these are absolute best case senario regarding water conditions but my super rough maths panned out quite well regarding expected run time, plenty for getting in an out of marinas with a nice safety buffer.
Not much is happening on the boat at the moment as I need to do a load of work on the car for the dreaded MOT! I have been researching and contacting suppliers for the electric drive and have decided to go with a great company called VoltSport for the core components, obviously it’s me so I’ll be making the looms and mounts myself (been looking for an excuse to try aluminium welding!) That’s about it for now, once the car is road legal again I’ll be hitting the interior rebuild hard, most of the little design issues have been resolved and I have a pretty good idea how it’s going to go together, watch this space!
